On a blog I frequent, I always find myself looking at pics of the bloggers who comment. Most of the pics are G-rated, but then you have the pics of the girls who are completely done up (weave, contacts, and all), dressed suggestively, and/or scantily clad (side profile of the ass). Personally these do not offend me, the human body is the human body. I am more offended by women in weave and color contacts than I am by women walking around naked. To me, weave and color contacts make me think that you have some issues with being black, I know this is not always the case, but it is the first thing that pops into my mind.
So inevitably another commenter will say something to these particular posters about their pics. The quick and immediate response is, "Your Jealous". Am I or the other posters there really jealous, or do we just not want to see your ass on our computer screens?
If I wanted to look at ass, I would go to the Round and Brown sites. Personally, I don't see the men posters providing pics of their penises or asses for me to see, I don't even see chest pics. At least give me some eye candy. I am all about naked folks, but sometimes, especially if I happen to blog at work, I do not want your booty on my computer screen for fear that my coworkers and boss might think I am really at the round and brown site, and not at a blog discussing IR relationships and race relations.
Sometimes I think we are trying way too hard to impress others. That is just me thinking out loud though. After all, I am probably jealous of these women and just spewing hatred. Hey the guys like it, again guys are more visual than girls, we are always taught to tone things down. Guys want us to tone things up. I think my husband would be excited if I got dressed up in heels, a short skirt, and make up to clean the bathroom, but instead I opt for a ratty tshirt, sweat pants, and no make up. I guess men and women are just different.

Ok I posted the closest thing I could to eyecandy on the background of my myspace page, Its more of a cute pic than a sexy pic.
I don't think it's jealousy. I sometimes find myself annoyed at the same thing. And I wonder why the girls do it. Then I wonder why I care. I just figure that some girls NEED validation from other people in order to function on a normal level. And only insecure people assume that people with differing opinions are jealous - especially if they assume they are jealous of their looks.
No jealousy here either...If you want to be naked, that's fine in those venues...However, it is disturbing to see all the "Beyonce-Clones" who obviously do not have an independent view of beauty...Black women are so gorgeous without the EXCESSIVE weave and UN-NATURAL looking contacts and such...In caps because there is a difference between wearing these things to enhance as opposed to hiding...

I'm having the same issue with your blog lately. :(
Anyway, you already know my feelings on the topic. It's so funny how attention whore always take their risque photos to be evidence of how secure they are when they really show a pit of insecurity. "Look at me! No, look at me! Aren't I pretty don't you want me? I'm hot, right? Right? Right?"
Thank you Casper!!!!! Finally!! When the other guys going to join in. Of course your pic really isn't eye candy but aaaawwww candy. You daughter is absolutely beautiful!!!!!!

I really hate that black women are basically raised to believe that to be pretty we must have what is perceived as traditionally "white" features, blond or red hair, straight hair, and/or blue and green eyes.

My blog has gotten racy as of yet. My husband pointed that out to me yesterday LOL
Siddity,
Wow I haven't been here in a while but I am glad I am back. Hope the whole job thing is going well with you. Otherwise just kick back and enjoy the 'ride'.
As for the pics. I am coming to realize that people have different value systems. So my position is that of a villager. I do not want to even see your knees.
There is a major difference between the races when it comes to dressing.
A white woman wearing a skimpy out fit may come off as sexy. A black woman wearing the same will come off as slutty. And by the way this is not because of the cultural and racial conditioning in the US.
Africans feel the same way about it. Where I come from, white tourists wearing shorts is no problem. But if a black woman wore shorts and walked the streets there will be mayhem.
So there is actually a big difference in perception depending on one's race regardless of which continent.
So to the BCs of this world. To many of us we only see the slut. And its okay to be okay with that.
Men and women are soooo different. I won't lie, I'm into girls showing off their goods. Not in a completely slutty or ridiculous way though. I could not care less about the weave or contacts or anything and what guy really does?
BTW I'm totally liking your racy blog lately, everything intellectual, all the time, gets old. It's ok, my screen saver has gotten so scandalous, I've had to disable it when I came home to see the folks.

C1:
Yeah I know guys are way visual, I covered that in the slutting it up blog. I never understood how I became pretty wearing a shirt that fits, but I did LOL
Guys start to care about weave, make up and contacts when they have been bamboozled. When they realize the long cascading hair, flawless skin, and beautiful eyes they saw the night before turns into a bald woman with really bad skin and warts, with completely different colored eyes sounding the same, but looking completely different, it is a moment of panic before they realize what has happened.
I am weird in the respect of beauty ideals. I think a girl who can pull off a no make up look in public is way prettier than a girl who has to make herself all up just not to scare people when she emerges into the public. That is just me though.
I am glad you are liking the racy blog by the way, I do that at times, I get it all racy, and then I go back to normal. I am trying to keep a balance though, I promise there are no plans to have a chest or booty photo using the new web cam. I gave up slutting it up a while back ago :)

Siddity,
You know, I have been wondering about the same. We have this person whose blog we frequent and we have no clue what he looks like.
Can't you see... he looks just like Dolph Lundgrin Its right there in the picture.
Well there are a lot of other people who check out C1's blog also and not all of them are happy about his message. I don't think they need any more clues to his identity.
Yan:
You are so right, there are a ton of people threatening him via email, and he filters out a lot of stuff so we don't see the crap he deals with.
Casper:
Well we do know he is a blond and he enjoys working out. He very well could be a young Dolph Lundgren LOL
Funny that it has been mentioned that the guys don't care about the weave,
remember that scene from 'Something New' when Brian asked Kenya to take her weave out? That was hilarious! But I loved the scene when as he was packing up his stuff when she dismissed him, he took one look at her with her new hairstyle and said, 'I knew it. You're goregous!'
I don't know, I think some guys do care. But who cares if they do or not, we have to do what makes us happy!
