I went to CW's Black Women Deserve Better Myspace page. I have her blog listed in my links section, but I am telling you the myspace page is a man magnet. I was added as a friend a few days ago and have gotten five messages from white men. OK so one of them was Deuces 38, but the others seem normal. I don't know though, I can't be talking to men, my husband has issues with it.
I figure if the men are blind enough to talk to me, they are going to want to talk to much more attractive women.
For the single girls though, I am willing to bet you could maybe find a guy or two to chat with.
Oh my myspace page. It is set to private, but I pretty much accept everyone :)

Wow, maybe someone should tell the folks over there manhunting on C-1's blog. Myspace drives me batty. I only have a page up to promote my book, otherwise I wouldn't ever go there.

I saw ONE cute guy on that page. The rest were, um...visually challenging to behold.
Not that I am an elitist, gold diggin' heffa or anything but one guy was 60, ugly and had an income of around 30k/year.
What kind of ish is that?
Also, I will never understand why Myspace is so popular. It's visually loud and hard to navigate.

OH.MY.GOD. I just went to the page and saw the profile of this guy in the DC area. I know him b/c he has been posting on Craig's List about how much he loves bw since I have been living in Maryland. Every 6 months or so, I will get bored, go look at the personals in CL (cause they're not good for anything but a laugh)and he will be there, same ad. sometimes he will also be posting ads for Asian women or Latino women. One time he got po'd and was saying how he wasn't going to like bw anymore. He frightens me.
Make that LatinA women.
Myspace is a trip. Before I put my profile on private my inbox was full of messages from creepy/lame dudes. I looked up a guy I knew from years back and find out he's a "collector". All of the people on his friends list except for a few are attractive black women. There are lots of those on there and they creep me out. Their friends lists remind me of a hunter's trophy wall. I don't even talk to strangers on there. I only use it to keep in touch with friends and post stuff for my dad's band.
I just saw a few of the 200+ folks as I didn't navigate the whole page.

Actually, what you described about some (not all) of the wm of myspace are bringing full circle what Siditty's post about bw who might think wm are 'saviors'...
There are some so called 'dbr's' out there in wm land too.
Also, I think men date similarly across racial lines. After the age of like 35 they tend to want women who are no more than like 30.
So, you have men who are 40ish and over looking for women who are 18-32------and these are not even well to do men. Some of them are just under achievers who demand a black woman look like a 10.
The online arena allows the guys to be very very picky in spite of the fact that they are not 'holding up well' themselves.
