I Don't Know What To Make Of This: 2+2=5
I found this video on youtube, and someone equated the pigs to white people and the cows or bulls to black people. I say it is more of a class thing. The pigs representing the upper class, and the bulls representing the middle class and poor.
LOL! I am confused by the video. 2+2=5 could actually be right. It has to do with which base system in math you are using. In base 10, 2+2 is 4 but the answer is different in other base systems. Remember New Math that they wanted to introduce in the 70s in the states? That is the idea. Additions would be looking like that today and so would everything else. It was impractical so they gave up the idea. The US wanted to do everything differently from Europe.
2+2=5 comes from George Orwell's book, 1984. It's one of the slogans among several, such as war = peace.
Words I like from this story or are thoughtcrimes and doublethink, and it's about an oppressive government that takes away the freedoms of the citizens via brainwashing (use of media), confusing the masses by mis-using language, hedonism (alcohol, drugs, perversity, promiscuity), and exploitation and oppression.
Orwell's earlier great book is Animal Farm, which was originally for adults and was a commentary on certain repressive governments around the WWII time period.
1984 is a must-read; the reasons will be obvious if you do.

I see imagery of both books in this film.
