OK I don't know if I have shared this a ton of times or not, but I tend to have a preference for white guys with dark hair and green or blue eyes. Ask me what my husband looks like, and he fits this description. The majority of men I have dated tend to have this look or dark hair and brown eyes. A lot of black women I have met who have admitted to finding white men attractive, tend to go for this look as well, in particular the "Italian" or "Greek" look. It isn't to say I haven't dated guys that didn't fit into that mold, but if I were to look back, there were very few blondes or redheads in my dating selection.
Pretty much from the get go of noticing boys I have had an attraction to white guys, but as a kid and pretty much until high school, the guys I had crushes on were overwhelmingly blonde. I don't know if it is because being blonde was considered the ultimate in attractiveness. In the 1980s blondes ruled Bop and Tigerbeat magazine. William Zabka, Ricky Schroeder, Sting, Simon Lebon of Duran Duran, Limahl from Kajagoogoo. These were the hot men of the 1980s. It seems everyone in the 1980s dyed their hair blonde, women and men. As I got older that obviously changed as some realized bleaching your hair was a summons for split ends, fried hair, and in combination with Aquanet and/or Dippity Do; a fire hazard.
I think that sometimes subconsciously, the "italian" look for olive complected, brown eyed, dark haired guys make it more acceptable in the minds of many to date IR. Many times we discuss how much "Moor" blood italians have, and we make it seem as if they are honorary blacks or mixed race.
Personally I used to think that blonde guys were off limits because I expected them to marry blonde women and make blonde babies. Why I thought this I have no clue, but I think my focus for darker haired guys came when I got into the goth/punk/new wave scene, where dark hair and pale skin were all the rage. Again if you look at my husband, although not goth, very pale, very dark hair. Of course too, I don't recall being approached by a ton of blonde guys either. I guess that made me assume they couldn't be into black women either, as if my life is a barometer for every one, and you wonder why I call myself Siditty. It is all about ME.
It could be the stereotype of "Tall, Dark, and Handsome" that women of all races tend to go with. There is no "Lighter, Blonder, Better" saying when it comes to men, that is usually reserved for men in regards to their preferences for women.
Of course there are many black women who if they like white guys, love the blondes, but I think sometimes that since we have been told it was wrong to date interracially, many black women have tried to play it a bit safe by going for the darker complected white guys.
Maybe I am wrong on this, maybe I am bored out of my mind, maybe I just wanted to post something before Thanksgiving. Who knows?

Hallie picked a blond. Interessting question. I look forward to your received comments.
Sting, Duran Duran, the guy from Sixteen candles and of course Anthony Micheal Hall (I know he was so freakin' nerdy lookin' but it worked for me..lmao)...he's still good looking and I loved Dead Zone till this day because of him! I can keep going on and on. I have a ridiculous jones for blond men with blue or gray eyes (sometimes it doesn't matter).
My heart has literally skipped a beat looking at a blond-haired, gray eyed dude when I lived in WA. He was just gorgeous.
I'll take a tall, light, and handsome any day.
I can get with the brown haired ones too. Kirk Cameron, yes, a teen crush. Wil Wheaton from Star Trek Next Generation..yes, I watched it only to watch him...lol
It depends on the man, if he wants a black woman, he will get her!
With white guys I prefer the darker look, like Mediterranean etc
Also, the best looking guys, to me, of the '80s had dark hair. Eg. John Taylor, who was by far the best looking member of Duran Duran IMO
(Although Sting was quite a looker)

See I knew there was some blonde love out in the world :)
OK You are on your own with Will Wheaton, I like them white and nerdy myself, but Will takes that nerdiness to a whole nother level. LOL
Halle did pick a blonde, but that blonde was special he is uber hot!!!!!!
All I can say is, are you serious regarding Limahl from Kajagoogoo? Word?
Halle's blonde is Canadian--just thought I throw that out there.
What about Daniel Craig--Can we give it up for 007?
No I am not serious about Limahl from Kajagoogoo, please give me some credit. I have had weird crushes in my time, but Limahl is not one of them LOL
OK I saw the new 007 movie, and Daniel Craig can so get it.
I'm about to get in trouble...
My wife, who was previously had no experience with the world of white boys, once described me as blonde.
Now granted it was summer and my hair does lighten up a bit in the sun, but blonde????
She still has a little trouble distinguishing the difference in white folks complexions.
I never liked the blond guys. Never. I'm with you, brown hair and dark eyes is the business in my book too. I don't know why I never found the blond hair cute. Maybe it's because they were SO stuffed down our throats in the '80s that I rebelled and went the other way. I'm with Oli about John Taylor being the hottest one in Duran Duran. Wowzer, he was hot!
That's so funny. I was thinking about this topic and realized that I usually am attracted to white men with dark hair and eyes, but for some reason, when I attract white men, they tend to be fair haired. I don't know why this is. And it does make the interracial aspect more of a challenge, because somewhere in my mind I think of being with a blond man as the ultimate sell-out. But then again, if I like him and he likes me, so be it.
I'm way on the extreme of the blond end, just a little push and I'd probably be an albino. That has a tendency to freak out allot of women, it's seems blond guys are the most popular with Latino women, for whatever reason.

Maybe because I grew up around white people I have learned. My husband falls in the uber pale category. He doesn't tan at all, he just burns. It could be because he has a fear of anything outdoors though :)

John Taylor was cute. I think I went to the darker haired guys because it seemed like they were more open to dating me. I always assumed it was the blonde ideal, many blondes wanted to maintain that ideal, and lord knows I don't fit into that ideal, and I more than likely wouldn''t be able to maintain the blonde ideal if I were to have kids with one, but I could maintain the ideal of dark hair LOL. I do know my mother in law was excited as all get out when she saw a baby picture of my brother with sandy blonde hair, as she felt that improved her chances of having a blonde child. My husband was blonde as a child, and I guess she was disappointed he ended up with dark hair like her and his father. I don't know. She is also hoping my niece will stay a blonde, but looking at her parents, this ain't going to happen.

See the total opposite for me. The white guys I tended to attract were dark haired. I can probably count on one hand how many blond guys I have dated. I think I have been approached by more red heads than blondes.

I am laughing at the "just a little push" part. I will admit I assumed you would be the type of person to avoid the sun like the plague type person.
The Latino culture tends to put a premium on whiteness, both men and women. At least in the Mexican community I should say. There seems to be bragging rights for having more spanish blood than indian blood, and the concept of black mexicans seems to be a dirty little secret that no one wants to acknowledge. It also seems to be a matter of economics the lighter you are, the richer you are perceived. Mexicans are infamous for looking behind the ears on babies to determine their tone, like us black folks tend to do. Intermarriage between mexicans and whites is VERY high in Texas, as we were once a part of Mexico, and it has been socially acceptable forever and a half for mexicans and whites to marry,as long as the mexican person was assimilated to "american" culture. Intermarriage between mexican and blacks or white and blacks was seen as a curse though to both races. Of the mexican guys I have dated, none had parents that were really ok with them dating a black woman, but no one seemed to have a problem with siblings dating white people, and they were welcomed with open arms.
Siditty,
I wouldn't just say Mexicans put a premium on whiteness. All other Latino culture do too: Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Cubans, Colombians etc... Those cultures love to claim whiteness too.
Check out the Census Bureau of those countries and you would know what I'm talking about.
If you ever listen to conversations that Latinos have when discussing their racial makeup it's quite disturbing. I thought colorism was bad amongst black people until I heard Latinos talk about it.

I think it is that way as well, but I think that I m more comfortable with discussing Mexican culture, vs. Cuban or Dominican because of where I live :)
I knew a few Peruvians who were the same way. In high school when I was "dating" this guy, a Peruvian girl literally gasped when we held hands, as she thought it was the grossest thing that this white guy and me were together. She was dating a white guy, and didn't see the difference in races between herself and her boyfriend.
As far as celebrity white guys, I've always been into the dark-haired ones (I still harbor a crush on Andrew Keegan, lol.), but I can't figure out if I have a preference in "real life." I tend to attract blondes, though that doesn't necessarily mean I prefer them...hmmm...I think my only "preferences" are that a guy have nice teeth and be taller than me, which is easy since I'm only 5'3'', though maybe I'll have more selective tastes when I'm older.
As far as white men are concerned, I prefer dark hair but not necessarily dark skin. For example, Tom Cruise has dark hair but light skin. I guess you could say I'm attracted to the ones of northern European extract with dark hair...like the coloring of Matt Dylan, Tom Cruise, Pierce Brosnon, Orlando Bloom, etc.
Now a blond guy like Viggo Mortensen can turn my head... The Lord of the Rings series did that.
I tend to be attracted to white guys who have a 'natural tan', noticably dark hair and green eyes. Yeah I have dated a few Italians or half Italians who actually fit that category except some of them had blue or brown eyes. Im not really attracted to blond men, but I wont mind a dark blond... especially when he has lond dark blond hair.
For me, it's always a plus when a guy has LONGER dark hair lol. So imagine how I felt when I watched The Lord Of the Rings... almost all the HUMAN males had long dark hair. Im not really into older guys but damn- Viggo Mortensen's look in that movie was a killer.
The guy Im sorta seeing right now is actually an Italian but he doesnt have that 'tan' I mentioned. He's pale, has blue eyes and brown hair.... but his Italian accent is very noticable.

I am a cuban of pure spanish blood. Most cubans in the US are of pure spanish blood (andy garcia, daisy fuentes, cameron diaz) and we get a great rise out of reminding dominicans and puerto ricans of their black ancestry. They get really upset. heh heh heh Its so pathetic when i see dominicans talk about spain as the mother country..i tel them “dude…you are the product of some horny spanish sailor and his black concubine”

A perfect example of the Hispanic "White Is Right" mentality from Racialicious.

I know I have dated maybe two or three blonde guys in my life, and I don't really consider one a guy as "dating", none were serious, except for the guy who decided we were going to get engaged after one date and our child would be named Journey Nicole. That really wasn't serious, just rather scary.
I guess blonde guys don't like me? Oh well, at least the husband likes me :) I did used to notice that it seemed blonde guys who did tend to date IR, tended to prefer the darker hued folks in comparison to lighter skinned folks, but maybe that is just my warped perception, and again I am not light skinned and dated almost exclusively white guys. I think it is due to the fact they aren't aware of the light skinned vs. dark skinned debate.

Another thing I notice is that Italian guys, meaning guys from Italy, not Italian Americans, seem to have no problems dating IR. Maybe that is why the BW tend to have this preference as well? I don't know. I am not going to knock the blondes, there are some hotties out there. Halle got herself a blonde, and he could get it. Hotties come in all hues, shades, and hair colors.
swedish all the way!!! just in case you don't get it blonde!!!
I am a total aryan look lover. I like blonde hair and big blue eyes.
I love blue-eyed blond men, as well as olive skinned, dark haired Mediterranean types. It's the in between brown haired types who I find kind of "blah" looking, although there are a few exceptions.
I agree. When i was in jr.high and high school i used to love those blonde blue eyed boys.As i've gotten older almost 30 i've found that most of the whites guys i'm attracted to now have dark brown hair and brown eyes. All of them have where either full Italian or half Italian or greek. I never thought of why i dated mainly the tall dark and handsome white guy, but i think you have about it seems to be accepted. What i have also found though is that they are more open to dating black women than, the blonde blue eyed white boy.
I don't find blond hair attractive on men or women. I love red hair, I think it is the prettiest color on white women, on a guy not so much. In the 80s I thought Ralph Machio and Patrick Swayze were cute. But mostly I was about the brown boys like Merlin Santana and Brandon Adams. Justin Timberlake is gorgeous but he can grow an afro so he hardly counts as blonde in my mind. Ralph Fienes is hot.
Latin americans and "island people" look down on african hertiage but southern europoean people look down on latin americans and island people. western europeans look down on southern europeans. and on and on.
I can only recall being into a handful of blond guys in my life.I have overwhelmingly been into brunette men. Latino men, Eastern European or Italian. I don't know why, but they just make me sweat uncontrollably:-)
I love me some blond men. I actually think they are sexier than dark haired men.
cocoalady,tigasinamon,
I share your appreciation/preference for blondes (also light brown and auburn haired guys) over dark haired guys. For proof ladies please google British actors- Joe Anderson and Charlie Hunnam and American actors, Paul Walker, Garrett Hedlund,Elijah Wood, Chris Evans and Prince Harry.
My ultimate, forever and always, '80's crush is Jon Erik Hexum (died before I was born, btw. a bit creepy, huh? o_o)
Kelly Slater is cute & '80's too, though not really blond...
But in general, I like dark hair (jet black) and very light eyes on wm. I have a male model crush, too, but I won't mention his name to anyone.
I cannot believe that you broke out a picture of Limahl for this post. Now I'm going to have the theme song from "The Neverending Story" going through my head all day.
From the picture I have seen of you C1 on the Yan's dating site. You are very very blonde. I really like that pic on your page with the close hair cut. You are a really handsome guy too for a youngin. Just kidding.
For me...it's ALWAYS been about the blondes with green or blue eyes! There's something about the skin combo with that blonde hair and light eyes that does WONDERS for me! Also, I'm on the darker side and have attracted the blondes more than the brunettes. NO complaints here!! :)
